Our workshop is a detached 2-car garage that measures roughly 22’ wide by 30’ long with 9’ ceilings. It has a staircase in the right-rear that takes up a little space, but it gives us a lot of extra storage room in the attic upstairs.
After having a 200 amp panel installed (which also serves our pool equipment) we added several new outlets and replaced the few existing T8 fluorescent light fixtures with several additional T5 light fixtures. We then insulated the walls and ceiling with fiberglass insulation. Since this is a detached garage with no one living above it, we decided to use OSB for the walls and ceiling which we painted a flat white to help with lighting.
